Your Facebook profile holds a lot – messages with friends, personal photos, connections with family, maybe even your upcoming social plans.

It's a hub of your personal life! That's why making sure only you have access to it is super important.

Taking a few minutes every now and then to double-check your account's security is a really smart habit. You might be surprised who could potentially gain access – maybe a hacker trying to find info for scams, but sometimes it could even be a nosy ex-partner, roommate, or family member who somehow got your password.

Let's look at how you can easily see where your account is logged in and kick out any unwanted visitors.

See Everywhere Your Facebook is Logged In

The most crucial step is to review the list of devices currently signed into your Facebook account. If someone managed to get your password, they could be logged in without you even knowing. Here’s how to check on both your computer and your phone.

Checking Active Logins on Your Computer (PC/Mac)

Finding this info takes a few clicks, but it's straightforward once you know the path.

The Quickest Way:

  • Just click this direct link while logged into Facebook: https://accountscenter.facebook.com/password_and_security/login_activity

Or, Navigate Manually:

  1. Go to Facebook.com in your web browser.

  2. Click your profile picture icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Choose Settings & privacy, then click Settings.

  4. On the left side, find the Accounts Center box and click See more in Accounts Center.

  5. Select Password and security.

  6. Under the "Security checks" section, click on Where you’re logged in.

You'll first see the device you're currently using and a number indicating other logged-in devices. Click on that section to see the complete list.

Don't Recognize a Login?

  • If you spot a device or location that doesn't look familiar, scroll down the list and click the link that says Select devices to log out.

  • Check the little circle next to each login session you want to end.

  • Click the Log out button and confirm.

  • Crucially: Change your Facebook password immediately after removing suspicious devices!

Checking Active Logins on Your Phone (iOS/Android)

You can perform the same security check right from the Facebook mobile app.

  1. Open your Facebook app.

  2. Tap your profile picture icon (it might be at the bottom or top right, depending on your phone/version).

  3. Scroll down and tap Settings & privacy, then tap Settings.

  4. Tap See more in Accounts Center (it's usually prominent near the top).

  5. Choose Password and security.

  6. Under "Security checks," tap on Where you’re logged in.

Just like on the computer, you'll see your current device and a summary of others. Tap that area to view the detailed list.

Removing Suspicious Mobile Logins:

  • Spot a login that isn’t yours? Scroll down and tap Select devices to log out.

  • Select the circle next to the sessions you want to boot.

  • Tap Log out and confirm.

  • Again: Change your password right away!

Don't Forget Connected Apps & Websites

Okay, kicking out unknown device logins is step one. But there's another important check: reviewing the external apps and websites you've linked to your Facebook account. (Think of sites where you clicked "Log in with Facebook").

Why check this? If one of those third-party services ever gets compromised, hackers could potentially access some of your Facebook information through that established connection.

  • Go directly to this page in your settings: https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=applications

  • Look through the list of connected apps and websites. Do you recognize and still use all of them? Anything look odd or unfamiliar?

  • For any app or website you no longer use or trust, click the Remove button next to it.

Stay Secure!

Checking your active login sessions and connected applications is a simple yet powerful habit for maintaining your Facebook account's security. It only takes a few moments and gives you peace of mind.

Helpful Final Tip: After you remove any suspicious devices or apps, always change your Facebook password immediately. For even stronger protection, consider enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) in your Facebook security settings – it adds an extra login step that makes it much harder for unauthorized people to get in.
